“Hedwig” isn’t your average Tacoma show, and [the Horatio] (despite lack of a permanent home) is filling a much-needed theatrical gap by bringing it here."

Film Shorts
by Erik Hanberg
co-produced with Exit133.com

May 2007
First shown at the Rialto Theater

Directed by Erik Hanberg
Starring Aaron Jacobs and Jenny Jacobs

Not theater exactly, but a short film, submitted to the Grand's 72-Hour Film Competition.

The film was made in 3 days, from script to final cut, and had to have the following criteria:

  • shorter than 5 minutes
  • feature a Tacoma landmark
  • feature a hat
  • the line of dialog "what we have here is a failure to communicate."
  • an action -- something had to be dropped, tossed, or thrown

TINTINNABULATION won the awards for "Best Use of Location" and "Best use of the Action." It was the only film in the competition to win more than one award.

IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE
A 1940's Radio Play

December 2007

Directed by James Venturini
Starring John Munn, Ally Evans, Aaron Jacobs, Justin Carleton, Chris Roberson, Christine Buoy, and James Venturini

A one-hour adapation of the classic Christmas story done as a 1940's era radio play.

"The adaptation is as authentic as you can get, the direction is slick, and the committed acting promises good things for Tacoma’s newest theater."
